John sponsored Church Hill Valley Country when the other country cubs refused to allow Italians to join.
Wango Caprizzi was John's representative at Church Hill Valley CC. Wango was John's favorite and Wango extended me an open invitation to bring 3 guests and play golf, have lunch, stay for dinner whatever on his tab. Church Hill had one of Gold Digests best holes, #5 a terrific par 3 with a very contoured and fast green and always swirling winds. A real tough one! Church Hill Valley CC is no more :(

Plenty of multi million dollar homes in Allegheny County. Higher property taxes but not like the Northeast. Much of the city has been redeveloped. Tons of jobs, one of the leading migrating cities in the country. Just much more affordable than the Northeast. Big John’s neighborhood demographics changed over the last 50 years. John died in 1984, 36 years ago. Lots of steel magnates lived in Big John’s neighborhood. It’s still an expensive area, but not like Sewickley, Wexford, Gibsonia, Presto among others.

Wonder if wall paper will ever make a come back my father was a pro at that shit. Maybe nice money side jobs on the weekend. Booze and beer from sun up till side down keeps the hands steady but also takes a decade or 2 off the old life

Don't knock it. Pittsburgh's one of the top 10 cities in the US. Very affordable, clean, safe, great restaurants and plenty of everything going on :)
