Hired_Goonz wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 7:53 pm I think that it is by far the GOAT Sopranos episode. You have Christopher talking about his vision of Hell (or was it Purgatory? Lol), all of Paulie's hilarious antics, Tony and Pussy whack the Bevilaqua kid and some of the best scenes of the series in Dr Melfi's office and also with Tony's family (which usually weren't my favourite parts to watch, I wanted to see gangster shit). Imperioli wrote the episode and I think he probably should have written a lot more.
I completely agree bud and nicely said. 8-)

Yesterday I watched my fav episode, possibly for the 100th time, when Paulie starts tripping regarding hell and stuff after hearing Chris' report from his near death experience

To be honest, if everyone in his family was well educated and also quite well situated, then i think money and education wasnt the problem but instead it was his own choice to take that kind of path. You either have it or dont

Heres some of Lepkes stats from 1916 when he was still a teenager...

Heredity: Excellent father and mother. Father died in 1910. Mother is refined. Well educated. One sister is a school teacher. One brother a rabbi with a ph.d. degree. One stepbrother a dentist. Two uncles dentists. One uncle a druggist. Cousin specializing in psychology at Columbia at present.

Home: Lived with mother after fathers death for 3 years. Mother went to live in Colorado and subject went to live with sister. Home conditions the best.

Physical: Normal.

Mental: Normal.

School: 8 grades in 10 years.

Vocational: Steady. Stock clerk or in clothing stores owned by family.

Habits: Good.

Delinquency: Two previous arrests for burglary but later discharged

Subject is a clean cut intelligent hebrew, who led a normal life in spite of little supervision untill August 1916. Then worked for uncle who owns Orpheum at Savin Rock, who reduced his wages to 8$ a week. This he didnt like and went to New York, got in with a bad crowd doing petty jobs. His delinquency was probably a result of mental conflict coupled with companions. Outlook is excellent.

Intellegence: Above average.

Abillity: Good.

I read that Louis Lepke Buchalter had a lobotomy before he was executed? Is there any truth to this? Lepke was a maniac and I'm sure a lobotomy would have curbed his ability to plot murders and escapes, which I'm sure the prison was worried about. Lepke might have been one of the coldest killers in OC history. Definitely one of the most viscous Jew mobsters ever.
