I've always wondered about Persico and Scarpa. Can't see how Persico wouldn't have had at least suspicion about Scapa. Maybe Persico did know, but turned a blind eye as Scapa kept his enemies down. Maybe it was all a play by law enforcement to keep the family in constant turmoil.

I think Bill Jr's case of getting his button is just him inflating himself. His father didn't even want him to get involved - he said it himself, his father was very happy when he graduated from college, and wound up very disappointed when he said he wanted to get involved. If its the 90's then who knows. Maybe just before they came back on?

I do recall Mazza's statements from his book. If they knew, maybe that was why others (Wild Bill) called Carmine a rat? I know he admitted the existence of Cosa Nostra in his sentencing, but, if he knew about Scarpa that may have been better reasoning. Who knows though?

( totally wrong unless he is talking about early 90’s? And supposedly Billy Jr got his button , lol I’ve never heard that before this. Total BS right? I’ve heard all kinds of stories about him thru the years ......

Actually talking about Colombo’s Larry Mazza said he was doing time, And Allie boy was with him right around the time/right after it came out that Greg Scarpa was a informant for 30 years , and Persico said him and his dad knew it all along .(that would be crazy if they knew all along unless it was helping them out as well...cause it makes no sense )
