This was the topic of subject in another thread recently. I'll just copy and paste what I said there...
You're talking about Godfather of Harlem where he plays Bumpy Johnson. I haven't watched it but, from what I've read and heard, it's about as true to history as the 1997 film Hoodlum which was also about Johnson. In fact, both had the same writer. The 1997 film had Bumpy becoming part of the Commission. The current TV series has him butting heads with Chin, even though they probably never even crossed paths. Bumpy was uptown in Harlem. Chin was in Greenwhich Village. More likely was Bumpy interacting with Fat Tony Salerno. But Bumpy had his position because the Italians gave it to him. He was their front man for the numbers racket in the black neighborhoods and is why he lasted so long. Dramatic license is one thing. Revisionist history - driven by political correctness - is another.
There's also the whole side story about Chin's daughter falling for a black guy, which is rather predictable. Chin and Bumpy butting heads. Of course his daughter will do that! Never happened either. His kids were too young at that time anyway. One daughter is a lesbian. Not sure which one Chin would have frowned on more.
