Andrew DiDonato talks a lot about it in his book. He made a big deal of his friendship with Billy Junior and said that they hung out there a lot, he might even have had a no-show job in it but that could be my mind playing tricks as it's been years since I've read the book.
Incidentally his book is another example of the 'I was the ultimate gangster, betrayed by the life and now everyone left in that life is a scumbag' genre.
The hotel is still there by the way, it's a Best Western now.
