Johnny is as tough as they come, crazy dude in his younger years.
Crazy but he shouldn’t have been beating up guys anymore being a made guy. Seems reckless. Maybe he just enjoyed doing that type of stuff haha
What makes you say since he is a made he cant be beating guys up? His fathers generation of made guys did just that. They even killed a guy with a gold club while being made.
Then and now. Way different times. A public beating like the one John got pinched on is rarely done by made guys anymore. Something for an associate to be doing. Too much heat on them for that.
Absolutely.
How someone can argue that being a idiot and doing dirty work IN PUBLIC .... bc there gangsters... I dont know.
But yes, I understand made members having anger issues and violence happening. But the whole point of having the hierarchy is so the higher ranks (and a made man is very high when looking at the street view.... theres probably 2 to 3 "tiers" of associates below the made members) dont have to commit crimes that are easily prosecuted.
All that being said.
Iv been seeing Pernas name on these forums for the last few years now.
But its allways been about how tough they were/are rather then how smart they were... and I cant even really think of many money rackets that were big that perna runs?? Could be wrong tho.
Also I don't think iv seen much said about leadership positions either... it's the Snr and Jnr and brother to the Snr right?
No one has ever claimed Joey or Ralph sr. As being tough guys... I’ve heard Ralph’s sr. Is literally the nicest guy ever.. and Joey, while he might not be some push over.. he for sure isn’t john.. John is obviously the pitbull in the group and from what I’ve read in indictments and heard, he’s not exactly bummed out if he has to beat someone’s ass... I mean being a rather wealthy, white, seton hall student, going into the hood/projects to stick up drug dealers for fun.. you gotta be nuts .. to be on a college wrestling scholarship you have to be one tough mother fucker.... i also don’t consider myself a bitch. I’ve fortunately won more than I’ve lost.. and I’ve trained a bit.. but in my early 20s I got into a fight with a kid my age who was a well decorated college wrestler.. he double legged me before I even squared up to him.. and he was nearly impossible to get off me, thank god he was in such wrestler mode he only threw like 1 punch, or else he would have fucked me up.. a year later I got that one back with the 1 hitter quitter, had to take the wrestling out of the equation lol...
But I couldn’t imagine how savage Johnny was especially when he was all buff or on roids or whatever he was doing.. I heard legit he could beat up like 2-3 guys at once..
don’t think him or Joey have done any work ever though.. they got a good think with the bookmaking. If I was them I wouldn’t even bother fucking around with anything else.. pros don’t outweigh the cons..
Book seems the only obvious career path left to these guys.
Everything else, tagged with RICO they get fucked.
I I fully agree, book and loans which go hand in hand usually are the only real blue collar rackets worth being involved in, the pros actually outweigh the cons when it comes to prosecution... but it’s weird I’ve never heard of the pernas being involved in any shylocking. I heard Joey would loan money very rarely to people close to him but that’s about it... Since their book was(sure still is) so profitable it would be counter productive to get involved in anything else... another thing I heard is the pernas associates weren’t ever really asked to “kick up” weekly so to speak... basically as long as you’re gambling money with them was straight If you had a half sheet with them or sometging, that’s all they really were concerned about..
If you’ve read the “operation heat” indictment, they had that book running like a well oiled machine. Very professional, but it also shows how much work it really is... on game days they were on the phones literally constantly.... and you can almost feel the stress and anxiety that comes along with it...
You’re right though, these days if you’re not concentrated on book or increasingly putting a shit ton of money on the street, like Ronnie G, you’re basically going to Be going score to score waiting to get ratted on, or busted... it was absolutely insane the amount of cash Ronnie g was collecting each week In interest...he was really making big money cause he was the bank for his crew, so not only did he have his own customers but he also had loans out through a handful of guys in his crew.. if he really had 3 million on the street assuming what has been written and said Is true then he could have been pulling in anywhere between $30,000 and $100,000 a week in interest depending on how many points he was leanding at. Those figures are for 1 point to a little over 3 points... don’t know what the standard rate is these days plus it varies so much depending on the relationship between the borrower and lender, and the sum of money being borrowed. Obviously he was lending out at lower points to his crew members cause they in turn have to turn around and lend it out themselves and be able to put some points on it...
The only other worthwhile money maker is if you can get in on some brilliant white collar fraud where you can get in and out quickly and make a shit ton of cash... any bank, credit/debit card fraud can still be worth it and can be insanely lucrative if you know what you’re actually doing and have something serious going on.... not these tweakers these days stealing mail to get your identify to them fill out for coronavirus pandemic relief, lol so many people are about to get busted for this Edd fraud... mainly cause it was sloppy junkie shit...
The guy who had no business at all though and applied for millions in pandemic small business loans 3 different times, got denied the first 2 times for asking for too much money for his fake business earnings he made up, finally on the 3rd try they gave him a loan for several million, the guy instantly goes out and buys a Lamborghini, rear
Ends someone and when it went through insurance it somehow alerted Edd that his shit was one big fraud. Lol. At least he got to live the life for like 1 week, such a moron move..
