In addition, there are more than few convos in the book between various Outfit members on which Chuck Giancana was also present. For example, Chuck allegedly once heard Nicoletti's opinion regarding killing women. This is what was allegedly stated by Nicoletti...."Hey, hitting a broad is that same as hitting a man…only she’s got tits and pussy. Who the fuck cares?! A guy is not there to screw her, he’s there to do a fuckin’ job”.

Besides Nicolettis statement, the Outfit was always known for murdering females

Sorry i meant to say Guido and yeah he was allegedly related to Ricca also. Dechiaro had a lot of problems with Giancana while Ricca was in prison and most of his rackets were given to Pranno and Alderisio

Guido was eventually targeted for assassination when the young bloods began taking over the slot rackets- instead of killing Guido, they killed his new son in law right in front of his daughter after the son in law defended Guido from gunman who stalked him outside his home.

It's Guido DeChiaro - he was married to one of Patsy and Tommy Ryan Eboli's sister I believe - so related to the Eboli family through marriage - Gudio was also very close with Paul Ricca (I've read he was cousins with Ricca).

The Chicago Tribune ran that article - the Eboli family would tell you its a load of shit. I know Frank Jr. a bit personally - he's a showman making money - and he's not in the best health either. Really no different from Franzese or some of the other guys at this point trying to say they knew more than they did or what's going on with these mob families today - they are just making money and no harm in that, but I don't buy everything they say personally.

According to a convo between Ricca and Accardo, they discussed Eboli’s partner and their long time friend, Louie DeChiaro who was allegedly in charge of looking after Eboli’s sons Thomas Jr. and Louis. They dicussed the situation of their dead father in New York, and that DeChiaro was walking the streets of Chicago in the company of two bodyguards, but Accardo and Ricca were allegedly in no mood to permit any contract over the two sons and so they allegedly assured DeChiaro and the Eboli brothers that nothing was going to happen to them and they kept their word.

Nice book. Shows the life in the Patch during those days, the situation within the Giancana family and the society in which he grew up, but there are few myths such as Giancana allegedly being involved in every high profile hit from the mid 1920s until his death and also about some stuff in the JFK hit and the death of Monroe.

Although the stories regarding the Outfits connections with the CIA and their interests all around the world are true.

Somehow Momo was witness to every single historical event from the mid 1950s to his death, and of course talked about it all in detail with his civilian brother. I've been meaning to read Double Cross again. The Outfit in Giancana's day was something else. I know people will argue, but I don't see how anyone wouldn't put the Outfit as high up as the NY families in the late 50's, early 60s.
I believed a lot of what was written as Sam was involved in mid-20th century events that shaped American history. What needs to be questioned is that which we may be less inclined to believe, and that could be solely due to not citing source reliability. It appears most everything cited is second-hand hearsay but some may be third-hand, fourth-hand that even Sam was repeating to Chuck. Also note Chuck is quoting Sam talking around events and patsies; which makes more believable than an outright omission. It's a decent read.

I’ve been crucified for this before but the outfit your discussing definitely was more powerful than probably 3 of the 5 families. I’m prepared to take the heat I know will come with this post 😂

Frank Calabrese recently did a two part interview on the John William Tuohy channel on YouTube. One of the more interesting interviews he has given... even stated how everyone in EP were suspicious of him being an informer, but he also says Difronzo had so much legit money it would be hard for the feds to prove anything
Anyways, he said his dad, Calabrese Sr, said "whoever gave Giancanas family member that info knew what was going on because he was "spot on." Can anybody tell me about the book? What stood it out?
