I have no idea if this is true but some of the comments are saying this was an actor hired by Capone's granddaughter to replicate his voice. Would be great if it is him. Yes, I believe he was ashemd if his Brooklyn accent which he saw as low class and put in a lot of effort to train it out of himself.
FWIW the guy here - whether Capone or someone else - doesmt have a Chicago accent at least. Notice he pronounces Chicago as "Chi CAH go" rather than "Chi CAW go". I'd imagine that after all his time in the city Capone's pronunciation would've picked up at least some local inflection.
