Was Antonio Caponigro killed in front of the Genovese administration, or was he taken somewhere else?

Yea maybe I should have listed DeFillipo as the "alleged" shooter then. The info about him shooting Sciascia came from Vitale's testimony, Sal claimed that Patty told him he was riding shotgun in Spirito's van and turned around and blasted Sciascia in the backseat. But as you say there were 3 guys in there and Vitale wasn't one of them so who knows. Massino's testimony contradicted Vitale's at times.
I remember Vitale failed to mention that Mike the nose was a backup shooter on the hit, and somehow Massino knew that. What is known for a fact is that Johnny Joe drove the van and that Massino and Vitale orchestrated the hit. Those were the only convictions the government managed to get. I could buy Pat being the shooter despite being a captain. He was in the perfect position to shoot Sciascia and plus I remember i read somewhere that Massino said he would wipe a debt Defillippo had owed as a reward for killing Sciascia.

Peter Caprio was planning on being a shooter (the other one being associate Daniel D'Ambrosia) in his plot to kill Joe Ligambi, Steven Mazzone and George Borgesi in 2000.

In another Philadelphia hit that never materialised, Nicky Scarfo attended a meeting in 1981 where the intention, he believed, was for him to be killed (nothing happened because Scarfo's people were holding John Cappello as insurance). Those present at the meeting waiting for Scarfo were underboss Peter Casella, captain Frank Narducci, soldiers Anthony Casella and John Grande and associates Joseph Grande and Rocco Marinucci. Stands to reason that if Scarfo were to be killed at that meeting the above individuals would be the hit team. Peter Casella also recognised himself as the acting boss and Frank Narducci as the acting underboss at this time, but the rest of the family and New York did not.

It's also possible that Narducci was a captain by the time of the 1974 murder of Alvin Feldman (working on the assumption that Narducci took over Phil Testa's crew when he became underboss). Narducci stabbed Feldman to death in that hit.

Salvatore Testa might not have been the shooter in the Rocco Marinucci murder. The 1995 NJSCI report (structured around testimony provided by Phil Leonetti) had the hit team as Frank Narducci Jr, Salvatore Grande and Joseph Grande as the hit team with Testa in charge of planning the murder. Joseph Grande was identified as the shooter. However, in his book Leonetti later claimed that Testa was present for the murder and shot Marinucci himself.

Some other cases of Philly hierarchy members being involved in hits (excluding those discussed earlier in the thread):

Frank Monte (possibly by then a capo) was present for Frank Sindone's murder in 1980

Joseph Ciancaglini Sr (then a captain) was present and set John Calabrese up to be hit in 1981

Joseph Ciancaglini Jr (then the underboss) was the driver in the 1993 murder of Rod Colombo

Frank Martines (then the acting underboss) was a driver in the Frank Baldino hit in 1993

Luigi Tripodi (possibly by then a captain) was lined up to be on the scene for an ambush of Steve Mazzone that never happened

Steven Mazzone (then a captain) has been identified as participating in the 1996 disappearance of Michael Avicolli

Joseph Merlino (then the underboss) was the driver in the attempted murder of Anthony Milicia

Pete Chiodo was a captain when his gun malfunctioned during an attempted hit, apparently he didn't have the magazine seated properly and the gun wouldn't fire. When the intended victim asked what he was doing he played it off like it was a toy gun and he was just trying to scare him.

Wasn't Carmine Sessa consigliere when he led the hit team that tried to get Vic Orena?

He also apparently held Sonny Red's legs as the wounded man tried to crawl to safety, while George from Canada picked the piece up off the floor and blew Indelicato's brains out. Imagine what a chaotic scene it really was in there.
Yep I wonder what happened to Dominick trinchera 50 pounds of his stomach went flying while he charged the shooters. Also I heard that sonny red linked arms with massino so that nothing would happen to him

Thanks for the confirmation. Crazy to think how many murders Casso has been involved in.

Thanks for the examples guys, great stuff. I just thought of a potential one but I'm not sure. Was Frank Lastorino a captain when he killed Boriello? What about Casso when he killed James Hydell, was he the underboss at that point? If I understand correctly, Gaspipe was a soldier direct with Furnari until the bosses went away for the Commission trial and he was named underboss. So I'm not sure where the Hydell murder fits in that timeline exactly. I think he said he tortured the guy by shooting up his arms and legs and eventually finished him off lol he was a guy who really earned the savage rep that he had.
