Not exactly what you’re asking, but I know of a few examples between made guys and associates:
I know Paulie Gaulino of the Bath Ave crew, who was an associate, was killed for shoving capo Anthony Spero during an argument.
And Joe Pistone once said when a made guy hit him he just had to take it, he couldn’t stand up for himself. But any associate under that made guy was fair game for Pistone to put his hands on. I think the made guy he was referring to was Mirra.
That’s one of the reasons I hated The Irishman movie: No way someone like Hoffa could put his hands on a captain like Tony Pro with no consequences.
That’s also a small hole in the plot of one of the first episodes of the Sopranos. Tony beats the shit out of Mikey Palmice, a made guy, and no one says anything. Then in the third season he punches Ralphie, another made guy, and it’s a big huge thing for like 3 episodes.
