A "high-ranking and influential member," to be exact.

I gotta say though, as far as the mob life in the 21st century goes.....if you are doing a 3-4 year bid every 23 years, you are actually doing pretty good—all things considered. Gene Borrello has said numerous times recently that one of the reasons the Genovese Family never has any informants anymore is because their guys are never sentenced to anything longer than 5 years. That was literally one of the first things I thought of when I read the article.

When they got pinched.
The Feds said Giovinco started rambling after he was read his miranda rights. According to them he told them that he had been involved in a long-running labor racketeering scheme with Arena and Esposito, that Esposito had proposed getting Giovinco a job at the Union. I also remember him babbling about a corrupt financial advisor (forgot his name) who was threatened to play ball.

Id have to go back and read the article but it seems he put most of the blame on Arena who was barking orders. How much of this is true I dont know.
That....can’t be good for Giovinco. Started offering up info before they even slapped the cuffs on? Something like that would get him shelved at the very least one would think. Esposito is gonna do 2 years and Arena hasn’t been sentenced yet.

The 2 other Genovese guys connected to this trial were Steven Arena and Vincent Esposito. Not sure who they report(ed) to.

Almost makes you wonder if the west side still has pull with the politicians and cops. I’d say if a 9-5 was gonna take a bribe that be the family he would wanna run with given the chance. They are a on a notch all by theMselves
