On that note, I am less precious about using information from files or documents. What really irks me are when notes or prose are copied and pasted into somebody else's script without permission or acknowledgement. It takes a significant amount of time and effort to produce summaries or articles, and while it is a passion project it is still a project. I don't own the information I obtain from court documents or FBI files, but I do own my words, my work, and my voice. To lift, without acknowledgement, my work or anyone else's without appropriate citation is not only insulting but indicative of an inherent laziness when it comes to producing material. If I can put in the effort while balancing a full-time job and personal obligations, then surely I should expect the same from someone who makes a living out of this.
That last paragraph sums up the whole mobtube situation with the constant need to have new and better content on such a closed topic. They will eventually need to come up with scoops and don't want to be seen as anything less than the source of the information. Crediting removes youtube "cred" essentially and these fuckers are just greedy for the views and the cash the comes with it.
Really if they wanted a decent channel they could attempt to pay people like those here for targeted research that would provided the "new and fresh" content they crave but share the proceeds and credit. Pretty sure it would work out better off for them in the end and they would have respect of a community instead of being regarded as a scumbag and then try to market themselves to the people who think they are scumbags for plagiarizing.
