It's me who has talked about the mob's bookmaking operations still extending out west. Some of the bookmaking busts that extended to Nevada, Arizona, and/or California include March 2003 (Conforti, Cirillo), December 2004 (the Gatto bust), January 2005 (the Uvari bust), March 2008 (DiPiero), October 2009 (Fafone, etc), April 2010 (Baselice, Cicalo, etc), April 2012 (Pinnacle Sports bust involving Basciano, etc).
Comparatively speaking, the last case involving the mob and escorts in Las Vegas was in the late 1990's.
