Back on the topic of Piccolo, interesting how both Piccolo and Joe Grande were part of the Scarfo faction when the Scarfos were trying to make a move on Philly around a decade ago. Joe Grande's relation to Piccolo was through his brother's marriage to Piccolo's sister and Leonetti said they were in the drug business together before the prison cocaine case where Wayne Grande flipped. With Wayne Grande flipping and both Piccolo and Joe Grande serving long sentences, hard to say if they stayed close or if it was just a coincidence that both ended up Scarfo faction members 20 years later. Then their mutual nephew became a rising star in the Merlino/Ligambi group while the uncles were still apparently loyal to Scarfo, so there is a strange dynamic.

leave me alone about the Andy thing, I wasn't the triggerman

responsibility for such failure doesn't go as high up as me
LOL, I thought that was Cheech that emailed Capeci.
I made the beef, Cheech gave the order, and Capeci the triggerman pussied out at the last minute.

Withdrawing from long-term alcoholism was worse for me than opioids in terms in intensity and scariness (had to go to the hospital for it).

Opioids sucked but it wasn't anywhere near as terrifying in the short term, it was like the flu times 100 but I didn't have seizures or hallucinate or anything like that. The depression that lasted for months after it was over was pretty bad though.

Never caught the opiate bug when I tried them early on thank God, but I'm 100% the same about drugs and alcohol. There were no mysteries about what I was playing around with. Things got more fucked up than fun and the only way out was taking responsibility. Hard for me to tell a junkie what to do because I don't know what it's like to get dopesick, but the blame game is ultimately just an excuse to keep the dealer's number in your phone, the bottle in your hand, etc.

I also quit drinking because I couldn't handle it. 8-)

Alcohol is way more dangerous than opioids in my opinion, in terms of damage to your health and society in general.

Legality is irrelevant, there's all sorts of horrible shit that's still legal. You can still buy etizolam (one of the scariest drugs I've ever messed around with) legally in most states, for example.
It really is, these alcoholics wave their "well im not an addict" sword around but yet they are a judgmental alcoholic probably chain smoking cigarettes. lol
What I meant by "irrelevant" was that I think people who use the fact that alcohol is legal as an excuse for doing awful shit on it are no different that people who cause trouble with illegal drugs. A drug is a drug is a drug.

Speaking as someone who used to fuck around with that crap, I agree. No one put a gun to my head and made me do it, and it's not like I didn't know it was bad.
Ivan thank you for your honesty and taking of responsibility for your own actions. I am so sick of these losers blaming everyone and everything but themselves for their dope use! You are refreshing
LOL, thanks. People do it because it feels really good, at least at the beginning, and that's it really. It is what it is.

It's not like I didn't hear "say no to drugs" a billion times when I was a kid in the 80s, or didn't see half my favorite rock stars off themselves with drugs. I knew what it was and I did it anyway, 'cuz it feels good. And that's that.

It's also a way for them to defer responsibility and play the blame game. Regardless of who sells it tho... there gonna get it. Period.
