A friend of mine that is very knowledgeable on west coast affairs told me there is a handful of ndrangheta guys and even stidda guys in san fransico, mainly operating out of cafes in north beach. I have no proof to back that up, so take it with a grain of salt, just what was told to me. From the looks of things it looks like they operate in small tiny cells in most us cities, making a bit of money here and there and forming a larger network, similar to russian oc in the states. They dont have big organisations or make big waves like the lcn families did/do.

Bump...I’d love to know more about “official” reports of the Italians working in the states. Especially if they’re working independently of the 5 Families, Chicago, Philly, Detroit, etc.

Something tells me there there are cells of Italian based groups operating in LA and other major cities where LCN/the Americans have less of a presence in the 21st century.

Admittedly I know little about them, but I does seem to me that over the last decades especially, both Calabrese and Napolitano “families”, or extensions of families have set up “outposts” in America. Specifically NYC, Miami and So Florida, and other key cities in America, in addition to the strong presence they’re exerted in Canada for almost 80-90 years now starting with Rocco Perri and Pepe Cotroni, Violi, Luppino, etc.

I DO believe that although not nearly as strong here and operating very much in the shadows, there are “incidents” where their hand has been exposed.

Camorra members in several cocaine busts, and certainly N’drangheta members in recent years.

I wonder “how many” though are really here operating?

And who they are specifically?

I met a few through several dear “friends” of mine in the last 10-15 years and were told that these fellows were from the other side in Calabria and had immigrated here.

One ran a wholesale food import co., in NYC I believe, another a Cafe.

I’m SURE they were here for a “purpose” and not just running small businesses (I was told as much). It wasn’t my business to ask. But they were both VERY respectful of, and in contact with, at least one NYC crew as I evidenced.

Anybody have knowledge of such activities? [in addition to the cocaine arrests of the husband-wife-Son Gigliotti Family in Corona, Queens].... which was well documented. Or [Valenti in the massive Gambino arrests of several yrs ago in Bklyn]?
