CW-5 is an LCN associate who worked directly with Larca, Bruno and others to obtain
and distribute large quantities of marijuana in the time period from in or about mid-2011 to in or
about early 2013. In or about 2013 and 2014, CW-5, Larca, Bruno, and Bonanno associates
Vincent Basciano, Jr., Stephen Basciano, and Joseph Basciano all pled guilty to charges related to
this conspiracy. See United States v. Larca, et al., 13 Cr. 340 (RJS); United States v. Vincent
Bruno, 13 Cr. 120 (KMW). Bonanno captain Ernest Aiello also participated in the conspiracy.
The conversation then shifts to discussion of another aspect of the conspiracy’s affairs—
whether its members are showing each other the proper respect. CW-5 comments that Crea Jr. has
“always got something to say,” and Larca responds that Crea Jr. is a “peacock motherfucker.”
CW-5 proceeds to describe a dinner that he attended with Crea Jr., Ernest (“Ernie”) Aiello, Paul
Cassano (“Roast Beef”), and Bonanno associate Vincent Basciano. CW-5 relates that, during the
dinner, Crea Jr. began “saying crazy shit at the table” about the fact that Aiello had broken into the
Luchese social club (“breaking in the place”) and saying that he (Crea Jr.) would “take care” of
Aiello. (ln. 331-32). Larca asks whether the dinner occurred “after they had that beef,” referring
to the confrontation between the Bonannos and the Lucheses at the Coddington Club. (ln. 349)
All of Basciano's sons are clearly identified as Bonanno associates. Based on Ernest Aiello's involvement in the marijuana operation with them and Vincent Basciano Jr. accompanying Aiello to a dinner with Crea Jr., it suggests they are associates of Aiello and/or the crew he was supervising. This would be an indication too that they've "fallen in line" with Mancuso's leadership given that Aiello is a relative of Mancuso and a top member of that faction. Whether that means Vincent Sr. has any say in the matter of his sons is anyone's guess, but if they are associates they belong to the Bonanno family, not their father, and the Bronx element of that family has a reputation for violence.
