And so you and everybody else on the forum can have confidence in what I post, let me declare myself now. Aside from many, many other sources, I typically refer to; The FBN Mafia Book, NEWSDAY (a great source), NY Daily News, Mary Farrell, Google search, many many books on OC over the last 50+ years, the Mafiamembershipcharts site (a great source), etc etc. This is just off the top of my head. PLUS personal knowledge gained over the years. I’m over 70+ years old.... Lol, I’ve been around quite awhile.

And Feather listed him as a “Capo”. To me that’s a top guy no?

Here it is on Nardo. Check the mafiamembership charts website for the Bonanno 1970-1990’s chart ok. Leonardo Coppola is listed with the nickname of “Nardo”. Bill Feather listed it, not me! Does that satisfy your inquiry on Coppola?

NP. And I’ll try and pull a source on Nardo if I can ok. B, I respect your postings. That’s far enough. On profiles I’ve posted, they are all old figures. Most of the info is documented many times over the years. I’ve just compiled the info understand. When it’s singular in nature, I’ll post a source ok. Otherwise, a lot of my info has come for Newsday periodicals over 50 + yrs. daily news, and old books. Or MF. Check old profiles and I think you’ll see ok. Far as “special” info. Well..... that’s special understand? Accept it or not. But the rest I’ll source out for you

You're going to have to provide sources that confirm anything you say.

Roma Cheese Co./Foods is owned today by Lou Piancone, Eagle Cheese Co. Isn't too far away from me on Ave.U in Bensonhurst which closed down a few years ago, It was owned and being run by Carmela Casamento, Filipo Casamento's wife or maybe his sister ?

In addition to Philadelphia, men were arrested in Buffalo, Newark, San Francisco & Miami. One of the main bases of operations in that case was Giuseppe Gambino's Cafe Giordano in Brooklyn, which had loan sharking and gambling activities as well as a heroin depot. The name "Iron Tower came from Ferro Foods, a Gambino family owned food chain which we discussed earlier in this thread (Ferro being italian for "iron").

some of the others arrested: Antonio Romano, Francesco Badalamenti, Filippo Filiberti, Salvatore Dimaio. Most of these guys either had businesses or owned condominiums in Cherry HIll. Another interesting fact: wiretaps were used from a Pitman pizza shop, which was owned by Leo Manino, Giuseppe Gambino's brother in law. He wasnt charged however.

Turano's daughter testified that Galante was the cousin of her grandmother, who was present at the restaurant and spoke to Galante before the murder. Given the marital relation and his status as a soldier in the Galante faction, Turano may have been a target or he may have just been collateral damage. Same for Leonardo Coppola, whose exact relationship to the Bonannos hasn't been made clear. Turano's daughter testified that he was a family friend. It's likely Moe Presinzano would have been killed if he hadn't left early due to illness. James Galante supposedly drove his uncle to the meeting and called the restaurant later to ask if he was still there.

The common story is that Coppola and Turano had a dispute involving Turano's wife and Galante was there to resolve the issue before the Turanos left for Italy. Not sure who the original source is for this info, but if true this may have been a sitdown and Turano and/or Coppola may have been in Presinzano's crew given his attendance.

Was it every determined why both Turano and Coppola were killed along with Galante?
