Thanks for the feedback. I recall that some posters in certain countries can't access some of the French-language articles coming out of Quebec; hence the Web Archive links I've been providing lately.

the engineer joe zappia from montreal in the wiretaps said rizzuto wanted to invest 600 millions, but there were other sicilian and calanbrian clans involved in the project worth 5 billions in total... rizzuto was involved in heroin trafficking since 1970s, later cocaine and other multiple rackets, mostly constructions, it's possibile he became so rich, same for caruana/cuentrera's who are his allied
Doesn’t mean he would’ve been investing that from his own bank account. He could’ve meant that’s how much he was going to pool together from his connections/resources.

i think the largest part belongs to him anyway and it's the part seized only, i answered lupara who said only caruana/cuntrera and ndrangheta are close to cartles in terms of reach, ndrangheta and current most powerful cartels may have more liquidity, but the assets accumulated by sicilian mafia clans in the past years is by far more than ndrangheta, at least according to italian seizures of the latests 30 years

The cartels provided the entire world. Only the Caruana-Cuntreras and now the 'Ndrangheta come close to the cartels in terms of reach.

I'm theorizing a large sum of that 600 million came from Rizzutos' wealthy and powerful friends such as the Cuntrera-Caruanas, the billionaire contruction tycoon Tony Accurso and perhaps New York.
matteo messina denaro is by far the richest boss in italy and among the richest worlwide, for example, police seized assets worth 4 billions from him, i never heard any ndrangheta boss even close or mexican/colombian... anyway you're right that 600 millions could come also from the caruana-cuntrera's

according to italian police rizzuto wanted to invest 600 million euros to build the messina bridge in italy, he's a billionaire, and the caruana/cuntrera's clan is among the richest criminal group worldwide

Don't think so. Where did you get that figure?
I believe it was a LE agent who stated this in one of the more recent articles.

I agree. But a few hundred million seems plausible. Definitely the righest mob family in Montreal.

I’ve heard that 2 bil estimate thrown around before as well.
