I've seen some files that said he was spending most of his time at his place in Florida. He was definitely down there a lot. You're right though, I highly doubt he was retired.

When Carlisi was down in Florida (he had a home down there), DiFronzo was the boss.

I was surprised by that too since It was 1989 and Difronzo was quoting himself as being the boss and some investigators thought so too, But I'm pretty sure that was wrong

I think DiFronzo was being sarcastic. Carlisi was the top boss at that time.
