Cubans, Dominicans, South Americans, Africans, and others still make huge amounts of money every year from Truck hijackings, Rail car thefts, And stolen cars . The Mob doesn't have the man power anymore, And I'd say they don't have the balls either

Cars, Vehicles of all kinds, Chop shops, Parts,Junk yards, Shipping vehicles overseas, Tag jobs etc etc And everything and anything to do with trucks ,cars were one of the biggest rackets for the Mob up until the early 2000's . The end of this particular racket was like the others, A huge loss of steady income

I used to work in Oak Park during the early 2000s and our company had 8 work vans that had their catalytic converters sawed off one night. Didn’t have cameras on the lot at that time.

Ronnie The Wig Galati was running insurance scams out of his auto body shop in South Philly. One of Uncle Joe’s sons got jammed up with Ronnie for insurance fraud as well.

That’s why you don’t have truck hijackinng anymore because of the GPS tracking devices

It's almost impossible to steal a car now due to the technology. The tracking devices are extremely difficult to get around.

The last cases I'm aware of were the Gambinos (Carmine Agnello and those connected to him) and Genovese (Fritzy Giovanelli) in the early 2000s. Stolen goods in general seem to be an ad-hoc thing and not really a core racket. Certainly not like it used to be when you had truck hijacking and lots of other things.

A thing of the past for the mob? Don't hear about that any more like you did in the 80's.
