In the article about George Zappola Sr's murder it says he may have been killed because he was unable to collect large amounts of money from mob loan shark customers. It could be a coincidence but the man he was suspected of murdering, was murdered on Feb 4 1982. George's pieces where found on July 8 1982. So I am inclined to believe that was the reason he was murdered, someone probably got upset he was killing customers, you cannot collect from a dead man. I have an article on George Zappola Sr's murder. His head and one of his hands was found washed up on a beach. He was also the suspect or person of interest in a horse breeders murder. I would post the article but I don't know how to post images.
