George Adragna was a member at this time. Family from Alcamo. Brother Frank was a Pittsburgh member who died in 1962 and was arrested in NYC after the Bazzano murder. Their brother Vito was proposed for membership in San Jose and another brother Joseph was made in Williamsburg (likely Bonanno).

Tony Lima learned in the 1970s that John LaRocca (the boss's brother) was made. Don't think he was made yet in 1963 but not sure.

Kelly Mannarino I believe was just the nickname of Gabriel Mannarino.

I have Gabriel born 1915/10/31 in New Kensington, PA. Samuel Mannarino born 1905/12/24 in Pitt. They have these dates on some documents, but I’d imagine they’re not precise, as it’s be a hell of a thing if one was born in Halloween and the other Xmas Eve.

Their parents were George Mannarino and Domenica “Minnie” De Paladino (several spelling variations appear). Unable to verify their origin as of yet, but Mannarino is obviously a Calabrese surname, and most likely from Cosenza province (e.g., Amantea and the surrounding area).

Unlike the Calabresi in Philly, my bet is that we’ll see more Calabresi from Consenza and Catanzaro provinces, along with Reggio, in West PA.

From 1964 - Ripepi is a former boss who holds no power any longer.

I don't think there's much info from 1932 until the mid 60's. Ripepi could have been representative or he could have been capodecina.

There was one document which described the Mannerinos as the successors to Ripepi and one reported labeled Mannerino a capo-regima.

From what I can gather, Pittsburgh had at least four crews in the city itself.
Other cities like Johnstown/Altoona, Youngstown and Steubenville had members there who've been suspected of being capodecina with 1 or 2 members under them. I don't know the answer definitively. It's possible they could have been PB eqivilants of Whitey Besases- area leaders who were soldiers in a crew in the main hub or could have been captains.

It's important to remember that there were no members cooperating so these are associates giving their take. This here seems to imply that La Rocca succeeded Ripepi as Boss and that Mannerino is Underboss.

This source identifies Ripepi as the top guy but then goes on to say that LaRocca and Scalish are fronts for the real bosses which isn't true.

Source claims that Frank Valenti attended Appalachin as a rep for Tony Ripepi. Valenti eventually went to Rochester, Adragna and Anazalone relocated to SJ and Ripepi was described as a "former power." This could all have been coincidental or something could have happened.

Was there ever a source that confirmed Frank Amato as underboss? He was getting up there in years and I've never seen a consigliere listed for this era. And one of the docs (above) did imply Mannerino was "sub-boss."
