I don’t think that the Joe Accardi who traveled with DiMino was the same guy. The ages don’t really match.

This Joe Accardi is 21 in 1921 while the Lucchese member was born in 1910 and would have been ~11.

Interestingly, this Joe Accardi was heading to an uncle named Salvatore Spano. Tony Scavuzzo’s wife was Antoinette Spano

Other than the 1963 document, I haven’t seen anything about Accardi’s parents. There were a good number of Accardis from Vita in the area

I haven’t seen anything indicating that he was a Lucchese member (or even in the US) in 1963. I think he came over from Italy later in the ‘60s.

What about Giacomo Reina, Gaetano's son? Does anyone have information on when he was made?

Valachi had him as a member by the early 1930s.

I don't recall him saying much (at least in his book). They were brothers in law (Valachi married Tom Reina's daughter).

From 'The real thing' Jack Reina was a partner in some of Valachi's early burglary endeavours. I can't recall the exact story but he talks about them two hiding in some store for a whole day after a burglary gone wrong (?).

This was Michael Russo:

Abate crew - ?

MICHAEL RUSSO
(Mike, Mike Valentino)
DOB: 1893
POB: Cerda, Sicily, Italy
F: Charles Russo
M: Mary LNU
W: Mary Yaczina
Occupation: Owner - Broadway Garments
Address: 105 Ridgeley Ave, Iselin, NJ
Previous Addresses: 1202 5th Ave, Pittsburgh, PA; Manhattan, NY;
Death: Mar 6 1975

————-

He’s been mentioned as a Newark -> Lucchese member but I’m not sure about that. He doesn’t really fit their patterns and he lived far from everyone else who were clustered in Newark.

Russo is the blue pin in Woodbridge Township at the bottom.

Good point. Was he located near *anyone* from any of the other crime families?
