Investigations into the Gambino Family lead the FBI and NYPD to Orange County horse farms

Two days of law enforcement activity at farms in Orange County are tied to investigations into the Gambino crime family, according to a high-ranking law enforcement source.

An FBI spokesman says agents have been engaged in activity since Tuesday at two multiacre horse farms in Campbell Hall and Goshen that News 12 has uncovered have ties to the same owner.

Authorities were first seen in unmarked cars and with shovels digging at 117 Hamptonburgh Road in Campbell Hall.

A resident there said it appeared authorities were digging inside a barn on the property, and that he frequently saw a man named "Sal" on the property who would often shoot firearm rounds above an outdoor area where livestock are kept.

FBI and NYPD agents were later seen on Wednesday at a second address nearby at 51 Hampton Road in Goshen.
NYPD officers were seen standing guard at the foot of the driveway.

An officer told News 12 they are conducting a joint investigation with federal officials. The Campbell Hall property is owned by Viviane DiLorenzo, who has an address listed at 27 Celano Lane in West Islip, New York, according to Orange County online property records.

The property was previously owned by Giovanni DiLorenzo – the same person county records say previously owned the Goshen farm that’s being probed by law enforcement.

The Goshen property is currently owned by GDLI LLC, according to county records. That is also registered to the same address on Celano Lane in West Islip.

A man named Salvatore DiLorenzo, who is from Oceanside, was one of 10 Gambino mobsters indicted on a laundry list of charges this month by the U.S. Attorney's Office.

News 12 called several phone numbers listed for Viviane and Giovani Dilorenzo and left messages.

The shovels lead me to believe they’re looking for bodies but I could be wrong. The town this farm is located in has a population of 5k

I’ve heard they’re not searching for bodies and that locating possible shipping containers is also an aim of the investigation. A few other properties are also being searched.

NBC are reporting that they are searching for bodies.

The FBI and police are searching and digging for bodies thought to be connected to an ongoing investigation into the Gambino crime family in Goshen, N.Y., multiple law enforcement officials familiar with the matter confirmed to NBC News on Wednesday afternoon.

Days ago, 10 people linked to the family were arrested and accused of strong-arming their way into New York City garbage hauling and demolition businesses.

The indictment unsealed last week in federal court alleged that the 10 people used violent tactics, including intimidation with bat, to dominate the industries.

The group faces a 16-count indictment including allegations of racketeering conspiracy, extortion, witness retaliation and union-related crimes, the U.S. attorney’s office said in a statement.

The group included Joseph Lanni, also known as “Joe Brooklyn” or “Mommino,” an alleged Gambino captain, as well as a number of other crime family members and associates who are accused of setting each other up with no-show jobs that brought benefits such as pay and union benefits.

Four of those named in the suit were accused of wielding baseball bats as an intimidation tactic to get into the business, prosecutors said.

Others also allegedly “coordinated a violent hammer assault on the dispatcher” of a demolition company that left the victim “bleeding and seriously injured,” according to the government

What bodies? They never kill anyone anymore.

Or do they? Would be interesting if this turned out to be disappearances that flew under the radar and didn't even register as mob hits.

Yeah, it tells us someone got lupara bianca'd.

You don't dig for bodies if you don't think there are bodies connected to these guys.

It also raises the question if someone started cooperating since the arrests.

Rick and I were talking about this a while back. About how if they're gonna kill people in the 2020s, that's the way they're probably doing it.

I was wondering about this myself. If you were going to kill someone in this day and age, that would be the way to do it. It would have to scare the hell out of everyone on the streets when it happens, too -- a guy is just there one day, and then he... isn't. :|
