They are respected as a family. Probably seen as dysfunctional

Like the fictional Furio Giunta, he’s viewed as ruthless when he needs to be, but a poet at heart with a sensitive soul.

Colombos would probably be viewed stronger by other crews in Brooklyn, but less so in other boroughs where they barely have a presence or have been gone from for decades. I always wonder if guys in Jersey or Westchester areas even know anyone in the Colombo family. It always just seems Brooklyn, Staten Island and that's it.

The Colombos have had a minor presence in the Bx, but they have had a couple of guys here. The Tommy Shots crew had stuff going on in the Bx and Gioeli’s successor, Dennis DeLucia, lived in the Indian Village subsection of Morris Park (behind Jacobi Hospital). I believe the Colombo associate Phillip Costanza, who was pinched with Michael Uvino a couple years ago, was/is from Throggs Neck (and Uvino himself of course lived basically just across the Sound in Little Neck). I have come across some other guys in the Bx who I have reason to believe are with the Colombos also, though I am not 100% sure if they have retained that affiliation.

i'm from north jersey and far removed from the days of Ray Cagno aside from meeting him one time briefly in trenton state (NJSP) through Marty T when he was there (Marty is in Rahway or EJSP now) i havent met any colombo guys aside from one or two son's of someone and only because they relocated here. Lucchese, Genovese, Gambino (not as many) , Philly (Newark Crew and i've met guys from down there when they visit and ive gone down) and as i've said before, i myself haven't run into many DeCavs aside when Mimmo had the spots in Montclair and Nutley. Elizabeth is north jersey but like right outside where i might end up on a reg basis. I've never heard much but then again i wasn't asking or listening when i wasn't supposed to be.
Most of you wouldn't be comfortable in my playground.

Sonny maybe I didnt make the correct questions:
The other families see the Colombos as bunch of idiots?
They trust them enought to made bussiness together or fear that the another rat would damage them?

I hope I was clear.

Made guy is a made guy. The rules go for everybody. The Colombo never had a hard time recruiting. They guy head breakers lining up for a button it's seems. Definitely a more violent family

Richie "nerves" Fusco who died a few years back was the consigliere for the Columbos and lived in Scarsdale. He was neighbors there with Greg dePalma of teh Gambinos until the feds took Greg's house away from him!

I believe Fusco was originally from Brooklyn. I'd be curious which Colombo guys have originally come from other neighborhoods outside of Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens, and Long Island.

Joe Yacovelli and Mooney Cutrone were Little Italy guys which wasn't typical of the Family. Don't know who recruited Yacovelli but he in turn sponsored Cutrone.
