Haha, I ain't an expert but I read into it a great deal and followed it very closely. I became quite obsessed with it when they hit Nicolo Rizzuto. A week before that I had speculated on Gangsterbb that he might have to worry about his own safety, even though I didn't know much about the situation. Then he was killed. At the time I was one of those who thought Paolo Violi's sons were behind it...

Do you have that timeline since the start of the killings? And do you still have the chart you made back then? I really want a good book but the only i have at this moment is the 6th Family. It doesnt cover the past 5 years.

I'm going to remake my charts, but I'm not sure when, probably in the months to come. I want them to be as complete as possible with the knowledge available to us. Laurentian has helped me with the charts. He has also written a new book about the history of organized crime in Montreal, covering the time up until the rise of the Rizzutos. It's currently only in French.

Btw, I'm not sure if the disappearance of Mario Marabella was linked to the war. He apparantly had unpaid debts. He was close to Cuntrera but also friendly with Giuseppe De Vito. It seems that the war started as a conflict between De Vito and Arcadi and then expanded when Montagna arrived in Montreal.

The part with Montagna interests me... still not clear if he acted alone or with the backing of the Bonannos. Looking forward to th book, hope for an English translation soon.

Imo it's obvious Montagna had support from New York as he acted in their interest. Bringing Montreal back into their sphere of influence would only be beneficial for them.
