Post by JCB1977 » Fri Dec 11, 2015 8:56 am

Hi All,

For any of you interested in reading this new book by retired New Kensington, PA police officer Dennis Marsili, I have copied and pasted the order form. The book chronicles Gabriel and Sam Mannarino of the LaRocca Crime Family in Pittsburgh and details the Cuban gun running operation, their partnership with Santo Traficante, Carlos Marcello and Russell Bufalino in the Sans Souci Hotel & Casino in Havana as well as their dominance in New Kensington, PA. This is the first book written on Pittsburgh per say. Hope you all enjoy:

He just recently had a book signing in the New Kensington area. As for now, he is only selling the book by order forms. If you go to the facebook page for the book, you could read all the info. Indiana had quite the Black Hand history, Whiskey Run area. John LaRocca was raised in Indiana during his formative years.

I know I've heard many stories ... One of the more funny ones was that if the bars around here were not using mob run pool tables and video game machines that the owner would find a pack of matches stuck in the coin slot. That was your warning... Use our stuff and if you didn't adhere to that warning well your establishment kinda caught fire lol that was stories from way back in the day my dad told me that was from the mid 1960s

The company you are referring to was Keystone Sales Company, a vending machine business with Joseph "Little Joe" Regino as owner and John LaRocca as co-owner and Vice President. Antonio Ripepi owned Keystone Music Company which distributed vending machines throughout Southern Allegheny County and dominated the Clairton area. Pasquale "Pat" Ferruccio owned Liberty Vending, INC. in the Canton, OH area and distributed poker machines to 12 different states. His vending company dominated Canton, OH and all of Stark County. Joseph "Little Joey" Naples owned and operated Youngstown United Music Inc., which clearly dominated the Mahoning, Trumbull & Portage counties and parts of the Western PA's geographic area. Sonny Ciancutti owned and operated S & S Vending Company which dominated the Westmoreland and New Kensington area. Big $$$$ in vending in those days. In Youngstown, if you didn't purchase or lease your machines off Joey Naples, there were no warnings...your bar or business was firebombed.
