Re: Bonanno - Newark Connections ?
Gerlando Sciascia Aka George From Canada moved from Montreal to Newark in 1961. He lived and worked there for a brief period before settling in the Bronx. This is according to “The Sixth Family.” Shiascia immigrated to the US in 1958, but then quickly headed up to Montreal with the Rizzutos. He retu...

Re: Joey Merlino is back in town
For a lot of Vlad interviews, he seems to only have a surface-level knowledge of the interview subject. Which becomes apparent when it’s a person or topic you’re very informed about. He does get some interesting guests though.

Re: Joey Merlino is back in town
A Joey Merlino/Jeff Canarsie podcast feud was not something I saw coming. Hilarious.

Re: Bruno Plot - Gambinos and Stanfa
I tend to give greater weight on subjects such as these to the feelings prevailing at the time on the street as opposed our view 20-30 years later. What I mean by that is the prevailing thought on the street was that Stanfa was involved. He was around Sindone, he bartended at Sindone's bar and like...

Re: Bruno Plot - Gambinos and Stanfa
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Bocchino supplying the shotgun. He was close to Caponigro and Ferrante was a Caponigro relative. This part of the story brings to mind an interesting point about Mafia Epistemology. The Bocchino and Ferrante shotgun disposal thing to me is plausible, even though Natale ...

Re: Bruno Plot - Gambinos and Stanfa
That's not exactly what Leonetti says in his book. He says that Stanfa WAS involved with Caponigro and Sindone when they hit Ange. The evidence definitely suggests he was. Sindone went to the hospital the day after Bruno was killed and spoke with Stanfa in Italian. Stanfa was spotted in New York wi...

Re: Bruno Plot - Gambinos and Stanfa
That was more to do with him being the outsider, gone for years then installed by NY. Which led to the turf war and his indictment. I don’t recall there being any lingering animosity towards him over the Bruno hit a decade earlier.

Re: Bruno Plot - Gambinos and Stanfa
Stanfa traveled to Newark and NY with Frank Sindone and Johnnny Simone shortly after the hit. I think one of those two was also rumored to have visited Stanfa in the hospital. Not saying this proves anything, but why would Stanfa be meeting with people who helped orchestrate the hit soon thereafter...

Re: Joey Merlino is back in town
Before Ace of Steaks it was Talk of the Town, and I think both had the same owner. I’m guessing it’s gonna be the same as before but with Joeys name on it, and he gets some stake in the business now. Don’t know that for sure though. Kind of ironic the old owner Danny D'ambrosia was arrested with Pe...

Re: Bruno Plot - Gambinos and Stanfa
If it comes out Stanfa was part of the Bruno hit he’d be number one on the Gambino’s to do list. This is the part I never see talked about when its suggested that Stanfa was involved. I never see any reasons for why he wasn’t taken out after or what his motivation would have been in the first place.

Bruno Plot - Gambinos and Stanfa
When it comes to the Bruno assassination, much has been written about Tieri, Tony Bananas, and the Geneovese-backed double cross. But to me it always seemed like there’s a missing piece to the puzzle with the Gambino side of things. One aspect to that is Stanfa, who was seemingly a Gambino family al...
