Re: Visiting the West Side 1963

Celambrino crew member Edward Lanzieri was put with Peter DeFeo. It appears that Joseph Celambrino, Salvatore's son, was with DeFeo aswell, so it's probable that Celambrino's crew was put with DeFeo.

Re: 5 Family Crew Succession

Hairy - I have sent you a PM. Based on information in the same report it appears that Nicholas 'Nick O'Brien' Galante was a Captain at the time of his death. The report identifies Joseph Famularo, Danny Noto, and Louis LaRocca as formerly being in his crew. These guys were all formerly under Frank C...

Re: 5 Family Crew Succession

In early 1974 Tommy Greco was demoted/stepped down as official captain and Antonio 'Hickey' DiLorenzo became official captain with Rosario 'Sally Young' Palmieri as acting captain. In Fall 1977 Palmieri took over the crew. That is not very likely, bn. Hickey DiLorenzo was under Frasca and his actin...

Re: Visiting the West Side 1963

I can see Miranda being Lanza’s captain but where does Adonis fit in? Wasn’t he a Brooklyn-New Jersey guy? Did he have any other ties to Lower Manhattan? What crew was Angelo Fiore with? Adonis was a Brooklyn guy who also had operations in New Jersey, Manhattan, Florida, and Upstate New York. Fiore...

Re: Visiting the West Side 1963

Anthony Provenzano was in Patsy Del Duca's crew (confirmed). In 1963 a CI (possible member source) advised that Provenzano answered to an old man named 'Patsy' who took over for Generoso Del Duca. This man is of course Patsy Del Duca.

By 1964 Provenzano is with Antonio Carillo.

Re: Gambino after Anastasia hit

Interestingly enough there are reports of Genovese members paying $5,000 for their buttons during this time period. Perhaps 'buying' memberships, whether literally accepting a sum of money, or inducting earners, is more common than previously thought. Another report says that Tommy Eboli went to Ita...

Re: Gambino after Anastasia hit

It was more or less known that Dellacroce turned against Rava, with the Robilotto murder being a likely turning point, and it makes sense Dellacroce had a contract on him given everything that faction was up to but nice to see it laid out explicitly. DeFeo and Dellacroce were once inseparable, meet...

Re: Gambino after Anastasia hit

As for the Anastasia faction, this is what I've deduced: - Tommy Rava, John Robilotto, and Neil Dellacroce were the main leaders of the Anastasia faction after the murder. The Anastasia faction of course predated his murder. - Joe Franco and Carmine Lombardozzi had been earlier members of this fact...

Re: Visiting the West Side 1963

Charles Carlo is listed by JD as a possible Capodecina in his dead list. In some files I found that Carlo was described as a powerful member in the Elizabeth St Area, and power within the "Sicilian underworld' and reportedly went legit and moved to Danbury, CT. The informant said that when Carl...

Re: Visiting the West Side 1963

Received some interesting information recently, wanted to share it. In or around 1963 an informant said that, starting from 1943, the Genovese captains formed a trust fund which required each captain to kick up $2,500 semi-annually. CI said that in 1961, there were 33 captains kicking up, and that G...

Re: "They all used to be under Mike. Vito made them caporegimes."

There is also a mention of Giosue Aiello as a power in the 4th ward on the LES, Al D'Arco in his book states that David Petillo, Rosario DiMaggio, George Filippone, Frank Caruso and Phil Albanese worked for him, all of whom would become members in the future Genovese family. A mysterious figure, th...

Re: "They all used to be under Mike. Vito made them caporegimes."

Pasquale Del Duca was identified as Generoso's successor. JD has identified Ralph 'Whitey' Ferraro, a close associate of the Del Ducas, as a Captain at the time of his death [1973], so good chance that he took over for Pasquale.

Re: 5 Family Crew Succession

Paolo Gambino broke off from Castellano crew in 1967 and also likely inherited a few members of Vincent Corrao's crew in 1970 (Antonio Indelicato). The Riccobonos, Peter Castellana, and probably Vittorio Masotto were members of Paolo's crew.
