Re: Bonanno Family Lineage Chart

So would Marangello have only been consigliere for about six months then? In March 1974, Violi was recorded telling Rizzuto about how Rastelli was elected official boss, and that Marangello was underboss and Cannone the consigliere.

Re: Bonanno Family Lineage Chart

Going back to this, I was re-reading my copy of The Sixth Family and it would appear Nick Alfano was consigliere for a brief time in the early 1970s. The following is a recorded conversation between Paolo Violi and Vic Cotroni that took place sometime between September 1972 and August 1973: VIOLI: J...

Re: Who was the longest-serving Capo?

Scoops Licata's history gets complicated, but didn't he become an acting capo in 1986? His status seems to change over time, but that's still pretty impressive. Licata was made an acting captain in 1988. Not sure when he became official but it looks like it was somewhere in the early 1990s. And sin...

Re: Who was the longest-serving Capo?

Vic Cotroni in Montreal, capo circa 1960 until his death in 1984. Even if for around ten years he took a back seat, that's almost 24 years at the head of a decina Didn't Massino testify that Sciascia was captain of that decina by 1981? I recall him saying Sciascia was among the captains who voted t...

Re: Peter Lovaglio Interview

Watched the whole thing and I think Nadu did a pretty good job, though there were a few things I was surprised he didn't ask him about. Especially the Coddington club incident, since Lovaglio was personally involved in it

Re: Peter Lovaglio Interview

He said he's had terminal cancer for the past ten years, that was part of his decision for cooperating. Why was this never brought up at his sentencing, or by any of the numerous sources who provided Jerry Capeci with information? Credit to Ed Scarpo for reporting back in 2019 that "sources sa...

Re: Peter Lovaglio Interview

I wish he would have asked Lovaglio more about the Basciano years and what VInny's reputation was within the family to this day - the Bonnanos went from Massino to Basciano - one became a rat and his predecessor stood tall even when threatened with ADMAX - you wonder if Basciano served as an inspir...

Re: Genovese Family induction ceremony August 11th, 2003

Arillotta identified him as a high ranking captain when he first met him in the late 90s. I don't see how he could've been a high ranking capo when he was under Muscarella then when Muscarella went on the panel and served as acting boss, Patty Falcetti stepped in as Muscarella's acting capo. DeLuca...

Re: Genovese Family induction ceremony August 11th, 2003

While being a soldier he did seem to have a lot of clout in the family. He was mistaken for being a high ranking captain at times. I believe both Bologna and Arillotta identified him as such. What makes you say Arillotta was mistaken about DeLuca being a captain? I'd think his proximity to Nigro wh...

Re: Genovese Family induction ceremony August 11th, 2003

where was the building that the ceremony took place in the Bronx and why wasn't Lilo Barney present? Barney was in jail in 03. Pretty sure Nigro was acting boss at that point I believe it was Nigro, Dentico, and Mario Gigante together on the panel. Nigro was given Muscarella's old spot on it.

The Genovese Family by Andy Petepiece (rant)

I bought this recently just for the sake of getting it. Haven’t read it fully, but I’ve skimmed a few chapters and already found some things that irked me for being obviously wrong or lazily researched. Appendix A goes through the family administration over time and starts with the following caution...

I think it was one he did with Luisi, but I'll need to check my notes to see which, they did quite a few together.
