Re: Kicking up

With the FBI listening to every shit they take, I'd say collections are probably no more monthly at random intervals. No one wants to risk getting caught with a large sum of cash. .. . The latest indictments I can recall all have business collections being done each month at a set amount. (ie. $300/...

Re: Couple 1947 California Murders Question

After I posted, I verified through the June 23, 1947 edition of the Los Angeles Times that Turkin indeed did have $630, all 100s except for a few 5s, on top of his body when discovered by police. Turns out the claim isn't just legend after all. The article quotes Det. Capt Bert Jones as saying there...

Re: Couple 1947 California Murders Question

Can't comment on the Buffa murder. Am not familiar at all with the St. Louis scene. However, there is some possibility the Sol Turkin murder was in retaliation to the Siegel murder. The specifics, unfortunately, seem lost to history. Below I will write a biography of sorts on a long-forgotten Jewish...

Re: Body tied to mob hit to be exhumed

Search turned up empty. Literally. Police try to exhume mob victim, but they can't find remains HIGHLAND MILLS, N.Y. – The decomposed body was found decades ago in a rural area where several victims of mob hits were dumped. The man's remains were buried in a cemetery in the 1970s, still unidentified...

Re: Philadelphia street lottery bust

Sorry to triple-post (don't know how to edit) .. I was able to dig up this report about Philadelphia organized crime that suggests the Slim Creagh numbers operation was active at least into the year 1990 (note that Frank was Slim Creagh's middle name, his relatgices called him Frank and the underwor...

Re: Philadelphia street lottery bust

Not sure how to edit my post, but I should probably clarify when I say that 'partnering' with the Italian mob involved splitting up which neighborhoods were ran by Perfetti and which were ran by Creagh. The Creaghs paid protection to the Philly mob in return for this 'patnership.'

Re: Philadelphia street lottery bust

Been quite a while of since there was a mob numbers case. Even in New York they appear to becoming more and more rare. Maybe it's a generational thing? Anyway, don't know if there's any mob connection here.. The Creagh organization is an Irish-American crime family that's been active in Philly for ...

Surprised not to see any mention of Yakuza (Japanese organized crime) on this website. Is there no interest?

Re: Decavalcante Wise Guy Jerry Balzano Get Road Rage.

I wouldn't want to name anyone, just in case they're legitimate, but his friend's list has countless labor leaders, real estate agents, a couple likely relatives of wiseguys, high-ranking port terminal officials, and even a few NYPD officers. People with the kind of professions you'd expect a goodfe...

Re: Current Cleveland Scene + Carmine Angnello

Hello all. First time poster here. I don't know if I know anything you guys don't, but I have some thoughts. That "big display with all the mugshots" included the individuals from the stolen car ring who brought investigators right to Carmine's supposed 'chop-shop.' Most of them were actua...
