Re: Philadelphia seat on commission after Angelo Bruno

To add more confusion Jimmy Frattiano claimed (via Roselli) that Philadelphia, Buffalo and Detroit lost their Commission seats in the mid 1970s (going from memory I think he said it was 1976). Taking in all the evidence I lean towards this being the case. Pogo That's the impression I've always been...

Re: Boston 80s?

Ah, you've mentioned Faruggia before. Makes sense Chicago had a colony given the proximity to Rockford. Aragona is like a lot of Sicilian mining towns in that many people have left as industry dwindled. I know there are a good chunk of them in other parts of Europe, particularly Belgium. Biagio is ...

Re: Boston 80s?

Yeah that is JD's blog, old time member of the forums. Waltham along with Rockford were definitely the major Aragonese colonies, not sure where else they may have ended up but offhand the only Aragonese LCN members I'm aware of were in Rockford and NE. Guys from nearby towns show up in other Familie...

Re: How a Sicilian mobster helped organize crime in Brazil

Good post, Fabien. When he was living in NYC he was also partners with Giuseppe Ganci, a capodecina in Salamone's Family associated w/ the Bonannos. Associated closely with Buscetta and got pulled into the political spider web surrounding him. I've been curious if he was related to early San Giusepp...

Re: General Mob Questions

DiNorscio's father was a Philly member and acting captain, while the son was a Philly associate who was released to the Luccheses and never made. Jackie's son was identified as a Philly associate in more recent years.

Re: the Carinese fugitives D'Amico helped, I'm curious if they were connected to the Colombo Family's Buffa-D'Alessandro-Badalamenti clan as they had ties to the Sicilian mafia there. I notice one of them had the given name Croce which is the same name as Croce Pecoraro who was patriarch of that cla...

Re: TMA: The Camorra's Influence on American Cosa Nostra

Paul Romeo was a Pittsburgh captain at that time and the other Romeos were with Pittsburgh so it makes sense the informant reached out to him first. Not hard to understand why informants in the area were confused about affiliation though.

Re: Boston 80s?

Giglia is utterly mysterious, shows we are missing some info about early Boston. Boston had a large population from Agrigento but not many known examples of members. Meanwile Giglia was a sleeper member for likely fifty years before surfacing as an elderly captain. It isn't mentioned in the LCNBios ...

Re: Gangland April 25th 2024

Guerra and Anthony Russo were originally proposed together in the 1990s but Guerra turned it down as he felt being on record w/ Allie Persico was as good as being made. Persico however was extremely offended that "they" turned down his offer of membership which delayed Russo's induction. A...

Re: New LCNBios posts

Not surprised there were Trenton connections with the early Pittston Family as Trenton had a colony from the same part of Caltanissetta and most of the Philly members later made in Trenton had heritage from Caltanissetta, with some indications they had relatives and connections to the Pittston area.

Re: TMA: The Camorra's Influence on American Cosa Nostra

Yeah, after revisiting the Pindelli report I agree it wasn't necessarily related to "Calabrian organization" affairs. It is interesting though that the son of a Pittsburgh member associated with the Calabrian network was given assistance by Milano in connection with a prostitution-related ...

Excellent one. D'Amico coming from Bagheria / Santa Flavia and like the Andolinos having family history in New Castle PA is good to know as that's near Sharon where Sal Marino from Santa Flavia lived.

Re: Boston 80s?

"Ranking Boston Sicilian Mafia Figure" could just mean a member of importance. I've seen "high-ranking member" used to describe key soldiers in FBI reports. Either way it is most likely DiGiacomo or Giglia. I've mentioned before that DiGiacomo's naturalization was witnessed by a ...
